Our Director Suzette was lucky enough to travel to Chile and visited Curacavi while our very first Academic Plus Volunteer student, Martin, was volunteering at our partner school. While there, she met with the Mayor of Curacavi to sign an agreement between Academic Plus Volunteer and Liceo De Curacavi Presidente Balmaceda, the school. As part of the agreement, we have set up the Academic Plus Volunteer Internationalisation Scholarship. The aim of the scholarship is to help the school and it's students become more globally connected, by helping students who would not normally be able to afford to travel to do so. Academic Plus Volunteer will donate the fees paid for the Chile Project (less homestay, Spanish lessons and coordination costs) to the scholarship fund on behalf of each Academic Plus Volunteer student the school hosts.
